1st Knocknamuckley were nominated for the 2008/09 Craigavon Sports Awards in the Junior Team of the Year category. The awards were held at Craigavon Civic Centre where nominees were treated to a buffet before special guest, Stephen Haughian.
The nominations in the Junior Team category were as follows:
1st Knocknamuckley Boys Brigade
Winners of the Northern Ireland BB Cup in Soccer
Winners of the Northern Ireland BB Cup in Volleyball
Winners of the Upper Bann BB Soccer 7s
Winners of the Lurgan Battalion BB Volleyball Cup
Winners of the U15 Portadown Battalion BB 5-a-side competition
Winners of the Portadown Battalion BB Cross Country
Winners of the Irish BB Chess Cup
4th place in the UK BB Chess Competition
Runners-up the Irish BB Table Tennis competition
7th Portadown Boys Brigade
Winners of the Northern Ireland BB Golf Competition
Runners up in Irish BB and UK National 5-a-side competitions.
Clann Eireann U16 Girls Gaelic Team
U16 County Champions
U16 North Armagh league winners
Portadown College Golf Team
Winners of the Darren Clarke NI Schools league
Craigavon Senior High School U16 Hockey Team
Winners of the Bank of Ireland U16 High Schools Cup competition.
Winners of the Mid Ulster League (successfully defended).
The Craigavon Senior High School team were chosen as Junior Sports Team of the Year for the second year running. Despite slight disappointment of not winning, a good night was had by the Knocknamuckley team, who were honoured to have been nominated.
