U-14 v 4th Portadown
(7-a-side, Play-Off)

With the group stage having finished, Knocknamuckley had to contest a play-off after finishing 11th. They were drawn against 4th Portadown, who had finished 5th.
After some promising signs in the group stages, Knocknamuckley went into this game in confident mood.

Knocknamuckley made the perfect start as Josh Black opened the scoring for Muckley with a good finish. This lead was stretched when a Portadown defender put the ball in his own net.

Knocknamuckley went in 2-0 up at the break, largely thanks to Thomas Adamson, who was playing in goal, and having the proverbial blinder, keeping the Presbyterian company's forwards out time and time again.

In the second half 4th Portadown eventually managed to beat GT in goals, and pulled to within a goal of Muckley. This made for an interesting half, as GT continued to play well in nets, when the forwards continued pressing for a decisive goal. The breakthrough finally came, and it was John Uprichard, who has been in fine form in front of goal this season, who got it, to put Muckley 3-1 up, and finish of the game.

Knocknamuckley now progress to the Quarter Final stage of the Lurgan BBOB competition, and will hope to step it up another gear and continue to progress.
