U-14 v Ahorey
(7-a-side, League Stage)

Knocknamuckley played their second and last game of this years Lurgan BBOB 7-a-side group stage, and came up against 1st Ahorey.

Knocknamuckley made a terrible start, as Ahorey raced into a four goal lead, with some fine football.

Ian Irwin did give Knocknamuckley some hope going into the second half, as he managed to pull a scrappy goal back, just before the half time whistle.

Knocknamuckley did look to make a game of it as John Uprochard pulled a goal back, after an excellent flick from eight yards out, staright from the goal kick, for an excellent goal. Uprichard inched his side closer with a shot which seemed to slip throught the goal keepers hands to leave only one goal between the sides.

Ahorey scored the next goal to re-open their lead, but Irwin replied to again leave only one goal seperating the sides.

Ahorey kept going and hit the next, and ultimately, the desisive goal.

Knocknamuckley will now await the draw for the knock-out stages. Despite the defeat they should be optimistic, as they have a team who on their day will be a match for anyone.
