U-14 v Annaghmore/Tartarahagn
(7-a-side, League Stage)
28/11/2006

This was Knocknamuckley’s fourth game of this years group stages, with two wins and a draw to date.

The first half was a tight affair with neither Annaghmore/Tartarahagn or Knocknamuckley dominating proceedings.

Knocknamuckley did manage to create some half chances, with Matthew Wright, who had a good game in midfield, having a couple of shots at goal, which the keeper managed to save comfortably, leaving the two teams scoreless at the break.

The second half opened up a bit more, with both teams looking for the win in their last game before Christmas.

Knocknamuckley opened the scoring when Wright volleyed home from a corner.

Unfortunately, the lead didn’t last long though and Annaghmore/Tartarahagn grabbed an equaliser, to again leave the game delicately poised.

Muckley, came back, and retook the lead through Chris Calvert. Calvert finished with the outside of his foot to put Muckley in a good position goin into the last quarter of the game.

Brooke Love increased the advantage for Knocknamuckley. He gained the two goal advantage when he poked the ball home through the keepers legs.

Despite increasing their lead to give them a two goal cushion, Muckley hadn’t won the game yet. Annaghmore/Tartarahagn dug in and pulled a goal back, to leave a nervy finish to the match.

Fortunately for the Muckley lads, the game was wrapped up when Andrew Poole rounded off the scoring to seal a four-nil win.
