U-14 v 1st Lurgan
(7-a-side, League Stage)
31/01/2008

Knocknamuckley played their first game in the Lurgan BBOB 7-a-side after the Christmas break, and came up against 1st Lurgan, who have had a mixed run of results in their previous four matches.

Knocknamuckley got off to a good start, and took the lead when John Uprichard was left with a tap in, after Lawson McKitterick, playing his first game for the U-14's this season, picked him out at the back post with a  great pass.

Lurgan managed to work their way back into the game, and soon grabbed an equaliser. The scores weren't level for long though, as Chris Falloon put Knocknamuckley back in front with a shot straight from the kick-off. The teams still ended up going in level at half-time as Lurgan kept going and again hit back with an equaliser.

The second half was closely contested, following on from an even first period. It was Muckley who again struck first, when Josh Black timed his run to meet the delivery from a corner to put his side in front.

Lurgan continued to show a strong resolve, and equalised for the third time in the game. Their equaliser, this time, coming from the penalty spot, after Falloon had stuck an arm out and handled the ball in the box. The Lurgan striker made no mistake from the spot, to leave the game delicately poised.

With time running out it was Uprichard who struck the winning goal, and his second of the match. John hit a long range effort, and struck it into the top right hand corner of the net, for a goal worthy of winning any game.

So far Knocknamuckley have managed to win all five of their matches to date, setting up a mouth watering top of the table clash against 7th Portadown next Thursday.
