Table Tennis v 12th Dublin

Knocknamuckley were again drawn at home in this years table-tennis competition, this time playing host to 12th Dublin in the Irish Semi Final.

Knocknamuckley took control of the match early on, with three wins in the first round of games. Gregg Harrison and Andrew Poole both won their games without dropping a set, while Stephen Russell defeated his opponent 3-1.

1st Round 1st Knocknamuckley 3 v 0 12th Dublin

The second round of games again went in Muckley's favour as all three Knocknamuckley players won 3-0. This meant that Knocknamuckley had reached the 5 points necessary to win the game, and no matter what happened in the last round of games would progress to the final.

2nd Round 1st Knocknamuckley 6 v 0 12th Dublin

In the final matches of the tie, Knocknamuckley again dominated with three wins out of three to complete a convincing win.

Final Result 1st Knocknamuckley 9 v 0 12th Dublin

Despite the convincing scoreline, credit must go to 12th Dublin, they fielded a very young side composed of 12 and 13 year olds, and were undone by a much more experienced Muckley unit, but having obviously done well to reach the semi final, they will be a side to be reckoned with in the coming years.

Knocknamuckley will now contest the Irish Final of the table tennis, only one win away from successfully defending their title from last year.
