Knocknamuckley entered the first round of the national table-tennis competition in the quarter final stage, having received a bye through both of the first two rounds. They were drawn at home against 120th Belfast, who had won through the first and second rounds to meet Knocknamuckley at this stage.
Each team comprises three players, each of whom play each other once, in a best of 5 set match, with a point awarded for victory in each match.
The first round of matches saw Knocknamuckley's Andrew Poole and Stephen Russell win their games 3-0, while Gregg Harrison narrowly lost out, 3-2 to J.McCombe in a very tight match.

Knocknamuckley held a 2-1 lead before the second round of games took place. On this occasion it was Harrison who gained a comfortable victory, while Russell and Poole were both involved in 3-2 defeats, Poole's defeat coming after he had led by 2 sets, only for Magill to stage a great comeback to win 3-2.

This left the scores all square going into the final round of matches, both sides needing to win two of the three games to take the match. Fortunately for Knocknamuckley they won two of the matches comfortably to ease any nerves on, with Russell and Harrison both winning 3-0, leaving Poole to complete his match, which he won 3-2 in a tight game against McCombe, who had won both of his previous games.

Final Result 1st Knocknamuckley 6 v 3 120th Belfast
This result ended 120th Belfast's run in the competition and means that Knocknamuckley progress to the Semi Final of the Irish Section of the National Competition, where they will meet either 5th Coleraine or 4th Newtownabbey.
