Sky sports sources understand that after a turbulant week of player protests in the Knocknamuckley camp that Matthew Parks has been sacked as manager of the under 18's.

Despite Muckleys most successful season in over fifteen years internal tensions have boiled over to a point of no return for Parks. An anonymous source from within the squad has revealed exclusively to Skysports news that players revolted against extortionate kit prices, amongst other things. They described this as "an outrage and an abomination against BB morals"

Many hate fuelled chants have been heard from the Muckley camp including "Parksy out" and "King Kenny" believed to be referring to rival Methodist coach Kenny Venard. Other sources have revealed that Chairman and Captain Tom Duprey has been sited with "King Kenny" holding potential contract talks although this cannot be confirmed. On the night in question when these chants were heard it is reported that a fight broke out between players and coaching staff were Parks was victim of a violent onslaught. Fortunately for Parks team hydration manager Keith "Mad Dog" Dawson diffused the situation on behalf of the incumbent coach. Since returning last week from the summer tour neither Parks or Dawson have been sited.

Other candidates may include Stephen "Budgie" Pollock,  Colin Irwin, Alan Shearer and Mal Harrison.

SkyBet odds:

Kenny Venard - 5/2 Fav
Stephen Pollock - 7/1
Alan Shearer - 20/1
Colin Irwin - 20/1
Thomas Chambers - 33/1
Stefan Hunter - 50/1
Team Takeover - 52/1
Team to continue without manager - 75/1
Mal Harrison - 500/1

It was reported yesterday that Knocknamuckley BB have parted company with the U-18 coaching staff after a successful four years in charge, delivering four trophies. Match Report managed to get in contact with the man at the centre of the story, for an exclusive interview.

When questioned, Parks was quick to deny these rumours. This is what he had to say, "I would like to categorically deny these rumours. I'm not sure where this story has come from, but I have my lawyers looking into it as we speak. It is possible that these rumours have been circulated by some of our playing staff from last season, as a number seemed to be disgruntled at being released from their contracts. These decisions have to be made in football, and unfortunately a number of members of the squad were getting too old, and a fresh strart was needed. Dwelling on our previous successes is not a luxury we have in this business if we don't want to fall behind."

Talking about his contract situation, Parks was confident that this was not an area for concern. "It is true that myself and Keith (Dawson, Head Coach) have not met with Tom and the board of directors as yet, as we have busy sorting out contracts for next season as we focus on our rebuilding process but are known to have their full backing after restoring Knocknamuckley BB to the summit of local football. A new contract is not a priority at this moment in time."

After reading out some headlines from todays sports pages, Parks remained unfazed, "I have been made aware of a number of rival managers throwing their hat into the ring following my "dismissal", but my message to them is simple, I'm going no where!"

knocknamuckley Football board of directors would like to realise the following statement:

There has never been any trouble between the board of directors and the U18 coaching staff, and they would like Parks and Dawson to continue with the team. However if the team is showing a no faith in the Parks and Dawson coaching skills, the board of directors will have to rethink its stance in the situation and might have to even let one or both of the Coaching staff go. We would ask that players make their view known so we can move from this situation in to a positive situation for the coming year

As rumours persist that Matthew Parks' time as Knocknamuckley manager is coming to an end i wish to make it clear to the teams fans that i will not be pursuing the managerial position due to family commitments.

Having come up through the youth system at the club Muckley and all it's supporters have a very special place in my heart. Because of this special bond i feel i would need to be 100% committed to the job. With my new job as an agricultural farmer and my recent marriage to Shaun The Sheep now is simply not the right time for me to become manager of such a prestigious club.

I would, however, like to wish the future manager, be it Parks, Shearer or anyone else, the best of luck in bringing the club back to were it belongs.
